Well, it's 3:08 pm on Sunday, December 26, 2010. The purpose of this blog is to make a journal of the following year's adventures between myself, my new husband B, and our two-year old German Shepherd dog Tico. We hope to provide some cool info aobut our days, and hopefully pass on some deals we come across during our roaming around LA and beyond.
A little about me:
I'm an accountant and work a few miles away from Downtown Los Angeles, CA. I grew up in Hawaii, and moved to LA in 2003. I love what I do, and have enjoyed trying to build up my career in the past few years, but like others, have had to step back down a few and re-adjust financially, and career-wise, since the recession. Not complaining, since I know I'm a lot better off in comparison to others, but I do wish my boys and I can just travel the world, or at least, within the Continental USA.
About B, my husband:
B is born and raised in LA, and currently work as a lab tech\Chemist in Orange County, which is a good 35 miles from our house in LA. He's a very wonderful man, hardworking, charming and just an all-around my better half.
About Tico:
I always wanted a puppy, specifically German Shepherd male puppy, ever since I saw a handsome adult one in Venice, CA one day.
Tico was a valentine's day gift in February 2009. My then-boyfriend B disappeared for a few hours on V-day morning, and came back with flowers, a card with photos of him and a really scary dog (see photo on the right). We picked him up the next weekend from a breeder in Victorville, about 1 1/2 hours away from LA.
Tico is about 90 pounds, and his birthday was December 11, 2008. He's a ball of energy, and he always finds a way to entertain us. I can't imagine what our lives would have been without him. He brought so much joy into our lives, and keep us on our toes every single day.
We have gone through so much in the past two years since we've had him, so my first few posts will be just about what we have done in the past two years, and we'll start the new year right with weekly adventures to everything dog-friendly and dog-related adventures all over LA and beyond. My main sources will be websites such as dogfriendly.com, and a book I bought from a dollar store called "The California Dog Lover's Companion" by Maria Dooavage.
So sit back, relax, grab some puppaccino, and enjoy! Hope you'll like what I write, and keep coming back for more!
Aloha!
